Dirty Dueling is the twenty-fifth episode of Yu-Gi-Oh: The Abridged Series and the third episode of Season 2.
Description[]
Show me your moves.
Tea and Yami go on a date, with typically disastrous consequences. Ever see the movie 50 First Dates? Neither have we. But we imagine this episode is a lot like that movie. Except with just the one date. And no Adam Sandler. But that's a sacrifice we're willing to make.
Trivia[]
- Yet again, the (Obnoxious) Celtic Guardian is given a different name, continuing the tradition from Episodes 20 and 23.
- It's shown that if Tea goes into a very long friendship speech, it brainwashes the victim.
- Tea likes brainwashing people like Yami.
Cultural References[]
- The episode title comes from the 1987 film Dirty Dancing.
- When Yugi switches out so that Yami can go on a date with Téa, Yami unleashes a string of swears with seemingly random words unbleeped. This is likely a reference to the "elder swear" in this episode of Potter Puppet Pals.
- The song Téa and Yugi sing is a parody of "Something There" from the Disney movie Beauty and the Beast.
- When Téa wins the dance game, her laugh is a reference to the winning pose of the character Chun-Li in the game Street Fighter II.
- Téa claims that Johnny Steps is creepier than the stalker from the film Perfect Blue.
- The stinger uses audio from the movie Troll 2.
