Cultural References[]
- The episode description is a reference to Persona 4. In the game, the Junes Department Store's commercials say: "Every day's great at your Junes!" Also, the music played at the entrance of Burger World is the Junes theme.
- Tristan amuses himself at school by writing BOOBIES on a calculator.
- The phrase "Thanks Obama" is said in that episode whenever a problem is designated.
- Yugi's remark about tipping references a note left at a diner by a (supposed) pastor who refused to pay an automatic tip, and wrote on his check "I Give God 10% Why do you Get 18".
- The description of the criminal Tatsu, and his byname "the Hedgehog" match those of the Sega character Sonic. Later, Tristan loudly explains the reference.
- When Tatsu is tackled onto the floor, golden rings fly out, as it happens when Sonic gets hurt.
- The Burger World customers include:
- Patrick Stewart, who quotes Star Trek; one of his most famous roles was as Captain Jean-Luc Picard in Star Trek: The Next Generation
- Mr. Creosote, a character from Monty Python's The Meaning of Life
- Japanese film director Hayao Miyazaki
- Joey and Tristan quote Michael Jackson's "Smooth Criminal" after Téa's been hit by Jirou.
