Trivia[]

  • Yugi orders "Mirage Knight" to attack, but it's really the "Dark Magician Knight" that does it.
  • Gansley's "I am not a freaky fish guy" line is Mako Tsunami's catchphrase.
  • Yami points out the idiocy of the Big Five stealing the teens' bodies- they are too young to run KaibaCorp. Seto is an exception due to INHERITING the company.

Cultural references[]

  • Yami's line at the beginning, "I used to be a duelist like you but then I took a card game to the motorcycle", is based on the famous meme from The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, "I used to be an adventurer like you, then I took an arrow in the knee".
  • The opening cards are five of the incarnations of The Doctor from Doctor Who:
  • The opening theme is replaced by the Dragon Ball Z first opening theme, "Cha-La Head Cha-La", with Marik singing original lyrics.
  • This is the only episode in the Noah’s Virtual World Arc of Season 3 not to have the word "Abridged" replaced with "Cancelled" in the opening credits.
  • While switching to Yami, Yugi references the Old Spice advertisements featuring Isaiah Mustafa.
  • The speech in the "Singapore dub" is in imitation of Michelangelo from the 1980s/1990s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles TV series.
  • Kaiba wonders whether the footage of Noah's past is a snuff film after he finds out that Serenity killed Noah.
  • Téa teases Yami with info about the newest book in the Twilight series (also read by Yugi, as revealed in "The Worst Of Both Worlds").
  • The credit clip is from the June 7, 1999 episode of WWF Raw is War. Vince McMahon is revealed to be the Higher Power of the Ministry, taunting Stone Cold Steve Austin, while Jim Ross curses.
  • The Big 5 are sent to Megaupload, The Dangerous Box, Chatroulette, Fanfiction.net, and 4chan.
