- When Yugi finds out that his The Eye of Timaeus card is glowing, he notices that it's a shiny card. This can allude to the fact that the actual "The Eye of Timaeus" card was printed as a Secret Rare card in Dragons of Legend.
- When the gang talks about "bridges", they're mirroring episode 5 of Naruto: The Abridged Comedy Fandub Spoof Series Show. In said episode, the Third Hokage (who is named "Joe" and called the "Joekage") talks about how he doesn't care for all of the "bridges" that are being created. This is an allegory for the "Abridged Series" genre.
- On the subject of "bridges", Yami mentions how he created the first bridge. This is in reference to the fact that LittleKuriboh's Yu-Gi-Oh: The Abridged Series was the first Abridged series. Also, Tristan's remark about how bridges are "so 2006" is a reference to when Yu-Gi-Oh Abridged started.
